Melanin Coaster Network’s

Code of Conduct

  1. RESPECT - Members must respect the park staff and guests and abide by all rules of the parks and venues MCN attends. Members must respect the MCN staff, volunteers, other members and their guests. This includes, but is not limited to making other members uncomfortable, gossip, and displaying behavior that does not represent supporting and/or promoting the MCN brand, goals, and mission.

  2. HARASSMENT - Harassment of any kind, in-person or online, will not be tolerated. Members must not participate in offensive conversations or behaviors while at MCN events or while wearing MCN apparel.

  3. PRESS INTERACTIONS - Members must respect media and press representatives at all times and speak positively of parks, rides, and events. Negative comments can hurt the MCN brand and potential partnerships. Members are not to act as an official MCN staff member or representative while engaging with the press and media.

  4. GENERAL ETIQUETTE - Etiquette is the customary code of polite behavior in society or among members of a particular profession or group.

    a. Be mindful of personal space (no line cutting, keep appropriate distance from others, do not touch other people’s belongings, etc).

    b. Be on time and prompt to events. Exclusive ride time (ERT), special access tours, and other perks are privileges that the executive team works hard to organize. Anyone who arrives late to any MCN event in which a payment has been rendered will not be issued a refund. This includes, but is not limited to MCN apparel purchases, payments for ERT and exclusive experiences, and any other future events in which payments are required. We want to cultivate good relationships with parks and being accurate with head counts reflects positively on MCN.

    c. No phones on rides. Loose articles are not permitted on rides for the safety of other riders and the preservation of the ride itself. If a park allows on-ride recording, you must use the appropriate equipment. Do not take pictures of your ride photos. That is stealing! If you want the picture, you must pay for it.

    d. Social Media - Posts and comments should not contain any derogatory or negative words/images or gossip. Please refrain from posting or sharing leaks and unofficial information regarding current or future rides or park projects for purposes of clickbait or financial gain. Such posts or comments will be subject to review, possible deletion, and may result in removal from the group. Keep in mind that this is a professional network with industry leaders as members. Posts and comments of this nature reflect poorly on our members, as well as the MCN brand.

    e. Profanity - Please be respectful of the words you say around park staff and other guests.

    f. Drugs/Alcohol - No drugs of any kind should be consumed, used, or on your person at an MCN event or while wearing MCN apparel. This includes smelling like or being under the influence of narcotics of any kind at events. Please be mindful of your alcohol consumption at events. Public intoxication is illegal.

    g. Hygiene - Please ensure that your body is clean while around other members and park staff at MCN events.

  5. PHOTOGRAPHY - MCN reserves the right to use all photos and videos that are taken at MCN events in any way we see fit with the understanding that we will not provide compensation for such use. No offensive gestures or images are allowed in photos or videos at MCN events.

  6. MINORS - MCN is an 18 years and older group that welcomes minors to certain events with the supervision of a parent or guardian. Some events will be for members who are 21 years and older. MCN reserves the right to verify ages.

  7. GUESTS - Guests of members must abide by the MCN Code of Conduct while attending any MCN event. Members are responsible for the behaviors of their guests at all times and will be held accountable if their guests do not abide by MCN’s Code of Conduct.

  8. BANNED POLICY - If you are removed or banned from MCN due to violation of the code of conduct, you are not allowed to attend any events through another member as a guest and/or attend any MCN event that is open to the public. Failure to comply will result in the MCN staff notifying park security.

  9. HAVE FUN!!! - At the end of the day, we’re all here to have fun. Be yourselves, but do not let your fun impede upon anyone else’s.

Failure to abide by the Melanin Coaster Network Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action and/or removal from the network and barring from future events.
