JUNETEENTH STATEMENT FROM MELANIN COASTER NETWORK

On June 19, 1865, news of emancipation finally reached the last enslaved people in Texas—two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is a day that marks not only freedom delayed, but also freedom claimed, community affirmed, and joy fiercely expressed.

At Melanin Coaster Network, Juneteenth isn’t just a day in history—it’s a celebration of who we are, where we’ve come from, and the joy we create together. It’s about honoring the legacy of those who came before us by living fully, freely, and unapologetically.

That’s why we’re so excited to host our annual Juneteenth PrimeTime Linkup at Six Flags Over Georgia—and this year, we’re turning it all the way up with TNT Steppaz joining the celebration.
